Islamabad schools to stay shut on Friday as PMD warns of heavy rain
FDE notification covers public and private schools. Private networks confirm they will follow it.
The Federal Directorate of Education issued a notification on Wednesday afternoon closing all schools in Islamabad Capital Territory on Friday 19 September, citing a Pakistan Meteorological Department warning of heavy rainfall and possible urban flooding.
Beaconhouse, Roots and The City School regional offices confirmed to SchoolNama that their Islamabad campuses would observe the closure. Rawalpindi schools have not been notified at the time of writing; the district administration is expected to decide on Thursday evening.
Parents relying on school transport should confirm with their provider whether Monday pickups are affected; several providers on the Expressway corridor have said they will resume normally.
